Last Call for GWNC Community Project Grants in This Fiscal Year!

Do you have or know of a community project that needs funding? See http://www.greaterwilshire.org/site/files/guidelines100611.pdf for our funding guidelines, and then http://empowerla.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/NeighborhoodPurposesGrant-application-Nov2012.pdf for the city's rules and application form.

Return the form to treasurer@greaterwilshire.org by THIS THURSDAY, Feb. 6, to be considered. Our board will hear presentations from applicants at its meeting on February 12, and will make the final funding decisions at its March meeting. This will be our last chance this fiscal year to fund projects, so now is the time to apply!

GWNC Candidate Registration Now Open!

Do you have ideas, opinions and a desire to be part of an amazing experience? The Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council is seeking qualified Candidates to serve the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Community as members of the GWNC board. All 21 of our board seats will be up for election on Sunday, March 30. To qualify as a candidate, you must live, work or own property within one of our 15 GWNC neighborhoods...OR document your involvement with a Business, Non-Profit, Religious or Educational institution within the GWNC boundaries. We also have a seat just for Renters...and our At Large seat is open to anyone with any of the above qualifications, or who claims some other kind of factual basis stake in the area.

1st Annual Family Holiday Movie Night in Griffith Park

Councilmember Tom LaBonge and Staff invite you to The 1st Annual Family Holiday Movie Night, featuring “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” & “Twas’ The Night Before Christmas.” Come and enjoy this family-friendly evening, located on the grounds of the Historic Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round.

Friday, December 20th, 2013 from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM. The movie is free. Carousel rides are $2 per person. Concessions will be sold. Dress warmly and bring blankets and picnic snacks. All proceeds will go to the Midnight Mission
